Echocardiography
An echocardiogram uses sound waves to produce images of the heart as it is beating. The test enables us to evaluate the size, thickness and movement of heart structures, assess blood flow, and determine valve function of the heart.
The painless test is similar to an x-ray, but without the radiation. Instead, it uses ultrasound to capture pictures of the four heart chambers and the four heart valves. Because the test involves no radiation, it's extremely safe.
Echocardiography is performed at Doshi Diagnostic utilizing the Philips HDI-5000 and the HD-11 Systems. Color Flow Doppler is employed with all echocardiograph studies.
